About
Zora Aziza Weidkuhn (born 1999 in Basel, Switzerland) is a textile designer and artist. Her work is characterized by the interplay of material, color, and space, and combines traditional craft techniques with contemporary design. A central aspect of her practice is working with existing resources: she develops projects that explore reuse strategies for textiles and other materials and adapt traditional production methods to a contemporary context.
She currently lives in Mexico and, as part of the Atelier Mondial residency, is exploring the city of Oaxaca—its colors, textile techniques, and stories—thereby engaging deeply with her surroundings. Using the traditional backstrap loom weaving technique and embroidery, she transforms impressions and experiences into textile pieces and analog memory carriers.
